City streets and county roads were filled with Castle Pines residents on August 5 for National Night Out (NNO), a community police-awareness raising event in the United States.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office made visits to neighborhood gatherings, introducing the SWAT unit, CSIs, mounted patrol, and community safety volunteers.

NNO is an opportunity for communities nationwide to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. Since its inception in 1984, it has grown and now involves more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all over the country.
