Castle Pines resident is a Colorado avid golfer

Colorado native and Castle Pines resident Chris Phillips has his favorites when it comes to golf courses. This should come as no surprise since Phillips works for Colorado AvidGolfer magazine, a golf lifestyle publication founded in 2002.
What is remarkable is that Phillips’ golf favorites are not only in Colorado, but are right in his own backyard. Phillips explained, “As all the courses in Colorado provide their own unique experience, I am partial to the ones in the areas that I call home – Castle Pines and Keystone,” he admitted.
Phillips went on to explain, “For private courses, I truly believe that Castle Pines Country Club is one of the prettiest golf courses you can play. Their new outdoor living scene is tops in the market and is a treat. My favorite public experience is what Troon and The Ridge at Castle Pines North offers. There is no better patio to enjoy a Gentleman Jack at sunset in Colorado! In Keystone, where we have our mountain place, I am partial to the The River Course. With great undulation and the scenic Snake River rolling through its fairways, it’s mountain golf at its best,” he said.
Phillips grew up in Willow Creek, attended Cherry Creek High School, and graduated from the University of Colorado. Phillips was the director of sales and marketing for Colorado AvidGolfer from 2004 to 2012. In 2012, he worked as the group publisher of Boulder-based SKI and Skiing magazines, and re-joined Colorado AvidGolfer one year later as partner and associate publisher.
Phillips and his wife Holly share a home in Forest Park with their two children Walker and Lainey and their 6-month-old, 115-pound Saint Bernard Scout. Phillips and his family enjoy the natural beauty of their neighborhood and surrounding community, schools, local shops, and the convenience of their home’s location.
Phillips said, “We love that we can drive 40 minutes to downtown Denver, 12 minutes to Park Meadows Mall, and five minutes to small town Castle Rock. It provides the homeowner a strong sense of community in one of the most beautiful settings in the Denver metro area. Where else can you live amongst bears and buffalo within a master-planned community?”
