The holidays were made very special for this bunco group from Castle Pines Village. In November, in addition to throwing dice, the group threw around the idea of donating two months of bunco winnings to a local family in need.

Group member Susan McCauley learned about a local family who had fallen on hard times through a Denver-based organization called Seek and Save the Lost Ministries. McCauley e-mailed her bunco group and within two hours each member had signed up to provide necessities and gifts for the single dad and his three children.

Member Angela Williams remarked, “It warmed my heart that within one day everyone in our group responded so quickly at the very busiest time of the year. I was so shocked at how the group really went above and beyond. It made Christmas!”

The donations far exceeded two months of bunco winnings as the group purchased clothing and other necessities, as well as special gifts for each child, and donated a $600 Walmart gift card to the father. “It came together so quickly and everyone was so generous,” gushed McCauley. “I was so glad that we could make a difference with one family this holiday season.”
