Free Lone Tree shuttle making rounds

In September, the City of Lone Tree launched a free new shuttle service that will run Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The shuttle runs along Park Meadows Drive and has stops at six locations: the Lincoln Light Rail Station, Kaiser Permanente, Charles Schwab, Sky Ridge Medical Center, tw telecom, and the entertainment district.
The 14-passenger shuttles stop in 10-minute intervals at each of the locations. With stops at restaurants, retail shops, and the RTD transit system, the new service provides employees, customers, clients, and visitors an easy to use transportation option while in Lone Tree.
Lone Tree’s economic development has expanded substantially during the last few years with projects such as the Charles Schwab campus, Kaiser Permanente and the expansion of Sky Ridge Medical Center. “This shuttle service is a big part of economic development,” said Lone Tree Mayor Jim Gunning. “Making sure our employers and broad work force have access to it is really important. The City and the partners behind the Link are investing in Lone Tree to assure it remains a premiere community for both businesses and residents.”
The City of Lone Tree collaborated in a public-private partnership with five organizations for the first-year funding of the new service. Those funding the pilot program are Lone Tree, Charles Schwab, Sky Ridge, Kaiser Permanente, ParkRidge Corporate Center/OmniPark Metropolitan District, and the Denver South Transportation Management Association. The success of the free shuttle service will be evaluated at the end of the first year.
