Thank you for your water conservation efforts this summer!

The Metro District is pleased that residents took water conservation efforts to heart! This year’s consumption during the irrigation season was 27,438,000 gallons less than last year’s, or an average of 18,600 gallons per family. (10-1)

The Castle Pines North Metropolitan District would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their cooperation in restricting the use of water during the months of May, June, and July 2003. As a result of your efforts to conserve water, the District was able to save 27,438,000 gallons over the same period in 2002. The average savings per single family equivalent was 18,600 gallons. In addition to supporting general conservation principles, this endeavor enabled the District to maintain adequate fire flow levels in the water storage tank and reduce overall consumption by 15.5% for the three-month period. Our goal for the irrigation season is 20%, so with continued efforts through August and September we may be able to still reach our goal.

As a result, effective September 1, 2003, the District Board of Directors has elected to rescind the mandatory watering restrictions that are currently in place. However, the Board would like to ask the users to continue conservation efforts on a VOLUNTARY basis for the remainder of the 2003 irrigation season.

Watering lawns every third day and restricting watering during the day will help to ensure that the demands do not exceed the available supply. Your continued efforts are greatly appreciated by the District. Please call 303-688-8550 or email us at cpnmd@cpnmd.org if you have any questions or need any further information.
