Who is Responsible for Snow Removal?

With some exceptions, Douglas County is responsible for removing snow from the streets, circles and drives in Castle Pines North, but does not typically clear snow from the cul-de-sacs.

Douglas County DOES NOT plow the streets of neighborhoods that have private streets. In these areas, sub-associations contract with private companies to plow the streets. Residents from these neighborhoods should contact their HOA if they have plowing concerns: Amber Ridge, Canterbury Townhomes, Daniels Ridge, Esperanza, Forest Park, The Hamlet, Ventana, and Whisper Canyon.

In Patio Home and Townhome neighborhoods, the HOA is responsible for clearing now from the homes’ driveways or sidewalks.

In all other neighborhoods, as a matter of safety and courtesy, homeowners are responsible for clearing snow from any and all sidewalks that abut their property.

Responsibility for snow removal along the trails and walking paths in the open spaces, common areas, and sidewalks around HOA clubhouses depends upon the owner of the property. For property within a neighborhood, the neighborhood HOA is responsible. Other trails are handled by the CPN Metro District. For more information, you should contact your HOA, or the CPN Metro District.
