South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) is urging voters to participate in the election of three Fire District Board members. Ballots are being sent to eligible voters and may be returned by mail or in person prior to the May 2 voting deadline. The location to drop off ballots in person is at the SMFR administration building, 9195 East Mineral Avenue in Centennial. A ballot box will be available during business hours through May 1, and from 7:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on May 2.

The Board of Directors oversees how tax dollars are spent in providing emergency services, as well as provides policy direction for how those services are delivered. Biographical information from the candidates is posted, along with election information, at www.southmetro.org and in the SMFR April community newspaper insert. Eligible voters must be registered, and must live or own property within the South Metro Fire Rescue district. Voters who did not receive a ballot may request one by calling (303) 839-3912 or may vote in person on May 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the above address.
The men and women of South Metro Fire Rescue provide emergency medical, fire suppression, and fire prevention services to the people living and working in 76 square miles of Arapahoe and Douglas counties, including the communities of Castle Pines Village and Castle Pines North.
