Lone Tree Rec Provides Variety of Summer Camps

by Jean Flynn, South Suburban Parks and Rec

South Suburban Parks and Recreation’s Lone Tree Recreation Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle, offers superior summer camp opportunities.

Athletically-minded boys and girls, ages 4-10, will delight in weekly, half-day Multi-Sport & Splash Champs Camps that operate June through August.

Experienced instructors focus on the basic sport fundamentals of soccer, baseball, flag football, lacrosse and basketball while providing individual attention. Participants can bring their swimsuit and cool off in the Lone Tree Center leisure pool complete with towering tubular slide and languid lazy river. For more information call 303-798-7515.

Creative youth, ages 5-12, can express themselves in every way during three weeks of cultural arts camps at Lone Tree Recreation Center. Morning or afternoon half-day camps will nurture their skills in art, dance and theater. Attendees will explore art history from caveman to modern day. Dancers can hone their skills at jazz, hip-hop and ballet. Improvisation and theater games will increase confidence and presentation of the young actor. These June camps will culminate with a public performance and exhibit on Friday, June 27 at 7 p.m. For more information call 303-708-3513.

This is just a sampling of the many day camp opportunities offered by South Suburban Parks and Recreation. Visit www.sspr.org and register online.
