Castle Pines Athletics kept children ages 4 to12 from the Castle Pines community busy this summer with a variety of sports camps.
Coach Joe Bishop, physical education instructor for American Academy Charter School led the Castle Pines All Stars in a week long camp that introduced a new sport each day. Campers met at Daniel’s Gate Park and played kickball, volleyball, soccer and t-ball.
Camp Castle Pines participants also had a full schedule this summer. Coach Bishop filled five hours of camp with riding bikes, playing outdoor games, running relays, waging water fights and a variety of other sports.
“Coach Bishop did an outstanding job. The kids had a fabulous time. They went home tired, but with a smile on their faces,” said Lane Roberts, director of Castle Pines Athletics.
Members of the Rock Canyon High School Pom Squad led a three-day camp for ages 4 to 12. Girls learned basic cheers, jumps and some of the latest moves in cheerleading.
All campers received T-shirts and memories to last a lifetime with friends and neighbors in the community.
“I had a fun time with Coach Bishop and all the kids,” said participant, Brett (10). “What a blast!”
