Castle Pines Village resident to lead foundation Board

Thomas Carter

by Sally Uhrich

The Board of Directors of the Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF) named Castle Pines Village resident Thomas Carter as Executive Director.

DCCF creates permanent charitable funds, primarily from local businesses, families and individuals, which the Foundation then invests and administers in the form of grants to nonprofit organizations. The Foundation was established in 2000 and was inspired by the legacy of Philip S. Miller, one of the County’s most respected philanthropists.

“I hope to refresh the Foundation’s mission to bring investment and resources to bear on the community’s most precious needs, by identifying areas where support can make the most impact,” says Carter. “We will focus our efforts on providing grants to programs to meet those needs, while encouraging donors to participate in our fundraising efforts.”

Prior to his new position, Carter directed the Asia/Pacific portfolio for the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development & International Trade. He spent eight years with Citigroup as Vice President for Multinational Corporate Card development and sales, and has held executive positions with several major nonprofit organizations.
