Chamber business district rallies despite frightful weather

by Anthonette Klinkerman

The weather outside was indeed scary, arriving just in time for the annual Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce Trick-or-Treat Street event. A two-day snowstorm that buried the town delayed the event scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, but organizers were quick to reschedule for the morning of Halloween.

Parents of the tiniest costumed trick-or-treaters were especially relieved to avoid having to face a frigid night and icy streets, though one child dressed as a banana looked quite cozy and warm.

Participating businesses displayed a white ghost decal, inviting in the excited troops of witches, fairies and pirates to enter. The cookie decorating station at Daz Bog was especially busy and an event favorite.

Property management teams made sure the walkways in the business district were clear for the more than 120 children who participated.

Sponsors included The Castle Pines Connection, LLC; Colorado Kids’ Pediatric Dentistry, Lisa Fox, DDS; MedExpress; Morgan Stanley, Smith and Barney; Jeffery Huff; the City of Castle Pines North; Prudential Preferred Real Estate; and SendOutCards – Ginny Wainright.

Despite the ghoulish weather a few days before, the sun came out and the annual event was enjoyed by all. Visit www.castlepinesconnection.com “Photo Album” to see pictures of the event.
