Master Association to host annual meeting

The Castle Pines North Master Association Board will soon hold an election to fill two vacancies.

November is when the Castle Pines North (CPN) Master Association’s Annual meeting has traditionally been held, though as of press time a date had not yet been determined. When a date is decided upon, it will be posted on the Master Association’s website: www.cpnhoa.org. The meeting is open to all CPN residents.

Delegate representatives from each of the neighborhood HOAs will be casting their votes to elect two Master Association Board members. Any owner of a residence within Castle Pines North is eligible to be elected to the Master Board. Board members are elected to serve a three-year term of service.

Change in procedure for annual meeting

Submitted By Client Preferences management company

The Master Association Board recently adopted a bylaw amendment correcting a discrepancy between its bylaws and articles of incorporation, thus eliminating the use of proxy voting at annual delegate meetings. This means designated delegates (or alternate delegates) must attend the annual meeting in person in order to cast votes on behalf of the homeowners in their delegate district (HOA).

The bylaws further require each delegate district to designate, in writing, their delegate and any alternate delegates no later than November 1, each year. In late July, the Master Association management company (Client Preference) notified all HOA managers and presidents about this change and provided delegate designation forms for submission.

Because November 1 falls on Sunday this year, the 2009 deadline has been extended to 5 p.m. on November 2. Districts which have not submitted their delegate designation Form to Client Preference by the deadline will be ineligible to vote at the annual meeting in November.

If you are an HOA manager, board member, or delegate, make sure your homeowners’ votes are counted by submitting your Delegate Designation Form in a timely manner.
