Oak Hills is located in unincorporated Douglas County, just north of Castle Pines Parkway, adjacent to I-25. The original subdivision filing was done in 1979, and the first house was built in late 1979 or early 1980. There are 82 lots in Oak Hills; all but a few are built upon.

“When my family bought our lot in 1980 and occupied our home in 1981, the area was similar to Surrey Ridge and Surrey Ridge Estates and somewhat rural in character,” said board member Dennis Valentine. “With the continued development of professional office parks and shopping malls in Douglas County and southern Arapahoe County, and the development of Castle Pines North, I would say the area is more suburban in character.”

The Oak Hills Board of Directors meets about six times a year and the Environmental Control Committee (ECC) meets monthly. The Board deals with general issues involving the community such as nearby developments and financial issues. The ECC reviews and approves new buildings and exterior modifications of existing facilities.

There is an annual meeting of all lot owners held once a year in the spring and at least one social meeting a year typically held around Christmas.
