Big O Tires gathering care package items for troops

by Carin R. Kirkegaard

Big O Tires, located just south of Castle Pines Parkway near the Safeway shopping plaza, is collecting necessary toiletry items and comforts from home for military troops serving overseas.

Robyn McElroy, owner and mother of a recent Marine boot camp graduate (to learn more see the article on page 12) discovered a need for soldiers serving the country many miles from home.

“We need items from toothpaste to batteries,” said McElroy. “Books, magazines and candy, the soldiers like to have the candy to give to the children they meet while serving in foreign countries,” continued McElroy.

Beginning March 1, Big O Tires and the Castle Pines North (CPN) Chamber of Commerce will have drop off containers placed in the shop. McElroy plans to run the collection through July and then hold a wrapping party to prepare the packages for sending.

For more information, or if other CPN Chamber members or businesses would like to participate, contact McElroy at 720-733-1707.
