Eight students from Buffalo Ridge Elementary School (BRE) had their artwork selected for the Douglas County School District (DCSD) art show displayed April 17 through April 23 at the Park Meadows Mall.

According to Nancy MacIntosh, art teacher at BRE, choosing 8 to 12 pieces out of more than five hundred was difficult. “I looked for pieces that demonstrated skill and imagination,” said MacIntosh.

The pieces were part of a larger DCSD show that featured work from each school level throughout the month of April. Ribbons were awarded for winning works at the middle and high school levels.

“Mrs. MacIntosh worked with me everyday on my painting and helped me with blending. I’m really proud of my painting and that it was chosen for the art show,” said John Koerner, fifth grader at BRE.
