The Second Annual Buffalo Ridge Stampede proved to be another huge success for the local elementary school, raising more than $3,500 for the school’s parent-teacher organization, the Buffalo Ridge Education Alliance (BREA).

More than 400 kids had the run of the field and playground to enjoy the many activities. Returning to the carnival this fall was a mix of bouncy houses, obstacle courses and giant slides – even the mechanical bull reappeared for the fun.

A favorite booth at this year’s carnival was bobbing for gumballs in piles of whip cream. Brought back by popular demand was the Buffalo Ridge dunk tank. One dollar bought students three tries to dunk a teacher or principal.

In addition to the fun and games, Iner Jensen of South Metro Fire Rescue provided tours of a fire truck, information on the new car seat law, and bicycle safety. Science Matters also taught students how to make slime, and body art tattoos were also available.

With plans underway for next year’s festivities, the BREA would like to thank sponsors of the event; Joan Gardner with All State Insurance, Huntington Learning Services, The Winsor family, The Reichman family and Little Italy Pizza.
