Adele and Morris Barbera opened Blue Spruce Assisted Living Facility in Castle Pines North in March. The residential home is located at 8204 Wetherill Circle in the Tapestry Hills subdivision.

“Our mission is to provide a safe, secure and caring home environment for those seniors in need, aged 60 and over,” says Adele. “ We have a well-trained and qualified staff who will provide excellent services and will be quick to respond to patients’ needs in a warm and friendly manner. Most of our caregivers are certified nurse assistants.”

As the administrator and co-owner of the facility, Adele will utilize her expertise as a licensed physical therapist. She has also had extensive experience in care for seniors. Her husband Morris, serves as manager and co-owner of the facility. He is responsible for all business administration functions. His credentials include an MBA and a BS in engineering.

The involvement of the Barbera’s two children make this endeavor a “family affair.” Oldest daughter, Michele, ‘08, will help out during summers. Most of her time will be spent teaching with “Breakthrough,” an inner-city school program. Lauren Barbera ‘ll, will organize activities and outings for the residents. “ We have had many people willing to donate their time for such activities as bible study, art, cooking and music,” said Adele.

A variety of services are provided for residents and include:

24 hour personal care
Companionship
Home cooked meals and snacks
Medication assistance
Housekeeping and laundry
Hospice support

The home has room for up to eight residents and comprises over 2,300 square feet on the main level, with an additional 2,100 square feet in the recently finished basement. Also included is a fully automated and monitored fire sprinkler and alarm system. There are six residential bedrooms, plus one bedroom for the caregiver, ranging in size from 120 square feet to more than 160 square feet. Three full bathrooms plus two half baths make this home a premier provider of senior assisted living and elder care.

“Our focus is on wellness and keeping the residents as independent for as long as possible,” says Adele.

“The loving atmosphere and safe environment makes Blue Spruce Assisted Living an ideal choice for seniors who can no longer live on their own.”
