Divorce doctor gets published
Turner’s book entitled “Mommy and Daddy are Getting a Divorce” is on the shelves. Here is Turner at Borders Book Store signing copies and promoting her children’s book.

Saturday, September 11, was a big day for Stonecroft resident, Dr. Kristine Turner, as she held her first book signing at Borders Book Store in Arapahoe Crossing. Turner, a clinical psychologist also known as the “Divorce Doctor” from her Castle Rock Radio talk show, completed her first book entitled “Mommy and Daddy are Getting a Divorce.”
The book is a read-along which is geared toward helping children deal with the divorce of their parents. In addition, it helps parents understand how best to explain to their children what is happening to their family. Kids should not feel the need to solve their parents’ problems, nor should they be asked to take sides, relay messages, or to keep secrets, said Turner.
“I was inspired to write this book years ago when I went through my own divorce. My children were young at the time, and I wanted them to have a book that dealt with the emotional aspects of divorce from a child’s perspective. There were very few books on the market.” Turner decided that the best way to share her expertise as well as her own personal experience with divorce was through books and seminars.

This children’s book gives both adults and children an overview of the normal feelings that accompany divorce and what to do with those powerful emotions. The book is now available through Amazon.com and at Borders Book Stores.
