Cub Scouts from Pack 826 and Boy Scouts from Pack 637 brought more than 100 pounds of food to donate to the Douglas/Elbert County Task Force.

While dropping off the food, scouts were given a tour of the facility and learned about how the food bank helps the community.

In 2009, the Task Force has helped more than 12,000 clients in need of food, clothing, hygiene and household items. According to the Task Force, during the past year there has been a marked change in the demographics of those coming for assistance.

While in 2007 the Task Force saw mostly single moms and their children, this year more and more two-parent families are seeking help.
