Our kids are growing and so are we!

Submitted by Castle Pines Athletics

Working to meet the needs of its growing children, Castle Pines Athletics is adding two new sports programs in 2011. Starting this spring, third and fourth graders can play competitive/developmental boys baseball and girls soccer in CPN.

Registration for baseball for third and fourth grade boys will begin in January. The baseball season will run from March to June. Long-time coach and CPN resident Corey Hutson will help coordinate the boys baseball program for Castle Pines Athletics.

Registration for girls third and fourth grade soccer will also begin in January. The soccer season for the “girls only” teams will run from March to May.

“Our kids are growing and so are we,” said League Manager Emily Bishop. “When Castle Pines Athletics first started two years ago, some of our children playing soccer were in kindergarten. Now, those same children are already in the second grade and we want to make sure they can continue to play sports right here in Castle Pines North.”

Bishop says the new competitive/developmental program will be a “step-up” from the regular recreational programs offered by Castle Pines Athletics. “These new programs will have umpires and referees, uniforms, and their season will be longer.”

As always, Castle Pines Athletics will continue to provide recreational soccer, T-ball, and coach pitch baseball to children ages four years to second grade. “None of our other programs will change,” said Bishop. “We are adding these two programs to help meet the needs of our families.”

Volunteer coaches are needed for boys spring baseball and girls spring soccer. To register for this program or to learn more, please e-mail or visit www.castlepinesathletics.com.
