RCHS Jaguars place first at Continental League Championship

RCHS sophomore Jake Dysart wins the 800-meter race at the Continental League Championship and goes on to state finals with the Jaguars.

Two members of the Rock Canyon High School track and field team won first place at the Continental League Championship, which was held on May 15 at the Aurora Public Schools Stadium.

Thirteen schools competed at this event. Sophomore Jake Dysart ran the 800-meter race in 1:58.9 (a school record), and junior Taylor Sheridan won the shot put event with a distance of 51’1.50.

Both Dysart and Sheridan will join Jaguar Girls’ team members Ali Will, Ivy Diebel, Cassandra Hardy, Katie McLaughlin, Ali Forrester, Amanda Sawicki, Kelly King, Megan Sajbel, and Whitney Prior at the state finals on May 20.
