Rotary International is excited about its expansion in Douglas County with the formation of The Rotary Club of Castle Pines. Current Rotary Club membership in Castle Rock, Parker, and Highlands Ranch represents a cross-section of more than two hundred business and professional men and women who are committed to enhancing their communities and promoting international goodwill through club projects, scholarships, cultural exchanges, and grants for development and humanitarian projects.

Leader of the Castle Pines Club development, Charles Tutor, past district governor, said, “We’ve been watching the development of the Castle Pines area’s civic, commercial and residential environment for several years. Rotary members are committed to responsible volunteer service, so when citizens and businesses came together to establish the Castle Pines Library, we knew that Castle Pines was truly ready for a Rotary Club.”

Rotary has been an active organization for the past 105 years. All Rotary Clubs share a key mission: to serve their community and those in need throughout the world.

By initiating and participating in its clubs service projects, members can volunteer their time and talents where they are most needed. In addition, the club meetings foster friendships, share ideas, support the community, and all enjoyed over a good meal!

Humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International include the polio eradication effort. There are now only four countries left in the world with active polio virus thanks to the Rotarian efforts. As Michael Oldham, district governor, stated, “What draws people to Rotary is the desire to give back to the community,” and this can mean the global community as well.

In addition to contributing their volunteer time and networking expertise to the polio eradication effort, since PolioPlus began in 1985, Rotary’s vast network of 1.2 million members will have contributed nearly $1.2 billion by the time the world is certified polio-free.

The Rotary Club of Castle Pines meets every Friday from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. in the club house at the Country Club at Castle Pines, 6400 Country Club Drive, Castle Pines Village. To attend please contact Patricia Fiske, assistant governor, at 303-229-5690 or contact by e-mail.
