TTE collects food for needy families

A new department in the Timber Trail Education Association (TTEA) is charged with helping students and their families find ways to serve the larger community. They started the year with a food drive that collected enough food to fill five SUVs with canned goods and other non-perishables for hungry families in Douglas County.
“This is our first year, and we’re going to work with the Timber Team – Timber Trail’s student council – to find ways to sponsor service to the community,” said TTEA’s Philanthropic Chair, Candy Palazzo.
This project was planned by adults in the TTEA, but now that the school year is well under way and the Timber Team is selected and in place, they will play a larger part in selecting and planning upcoming projects, said Palazzo. Members of the Timber Team are fifth graders who participate in a variety of projects school-wide
