Upcoming Special District Elections

This is a regular election to be held on May 4 that will be conducted by mail ballot.

Registered voters in approximately 1,525 homes may participate.

There are six candidates for three open positions on the Castle Pines Metropolitan District Board of Directors. Elected directors will serve four year terms. Candidate Jackie Sundquist is up for her second term, while the remaining five candidates are new. The six include: Jackie Sundquist (incumbent), Jerry Spradling, Jeff Thomason, Karl Krueger, Jerry Raskin, and Kevin Manion.

Castle Pines Village residents are directed to the April issue of the Castle Pines Village Reporter for photos and a Q&A summary of the candidates.

The District will mail ballot packets to all active registered voters in the Castle Pines Metropolitan District boundaries between April 12 and April 16. The registered voters list will be provided by the Douglas County Clerk and Recorders office.

Ballots are due back to the district office, 5880 Country Club Drive, Castle Rock, CO 80108 by 7 p.m. on May 4th. The deadline to register to vote with the Douglas County Clerk’s Election Division is Monday April 5, 2010.

On May 4, the eligible electors of South Metro Fire Rescue (District) will vote for three directors to serve four-year terms on the District’s board of directors. The election is by mail ballot and ballots will be mailed to each active registered voter in the district between April 12 and April 16.

In order to be counted, completed ballots must be returned to the designated election official by 7 p.m. on May 4, either by mail to the office of the designated election official or by hand-delivery to the administrative offices for South Metro Fire Rescue, 9195 East Mineral Avenue, Centennial.

The candidates for the open positions are (in order that they will appear on the ballot): Dave Jackson, Jim Olmsted, Jason Berglund, Paul Rosenberg, Stephen A. Barlow, William K. McGee, and Richard Sokol. Information on the candidates is available on the district’s websie at www.southmetro.org.

An election will he held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, to vote for candidates to fill two seats on the Castle Pines North Metro District (CPNMD) board. The elected directors will serve four-year terms. A total of five elected representatives serve on the board of directors, which govern the Metro District. The board establishes policy and provides direction for the district staff members.

Mail ballots will be sent to all eligible voters of the CPNMD the week of April 12. Completed ballots may be returned via U.S. Postal Service or hand delivered to the CPNMD office at 7404 Yorkshire Drive, Castle Pines North. The close of the election is 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 4. All completed ballots must be received by then to be counted.

Five residents of Castle Pines North are candidates for the upcoming election for two seats on the board of directors. In alphabetical order, they are: Ron Clark, John Ewing, Steven Labossiere, Blair Marsden, and Dwight Zemp (incumbent).

Note: Hidden Pointe residents are members of the Hidden Pointe Metro District. They are not eligible to vote in the CPNMD election.
