“We’ve been doing this for more than ten years and we always wear pink,” said Donna Belber, president of the Castle Pines Country Club Ladies 9-Hole Golf Association. Forty or so women golfers recently gathered at the Castle Pines Country Club after their annual “Susan G. Komen for the Cure” golfing fundraiser event.

The pink-clad golfers, the color identified with the Susan G. Komen organization, raised more than $1,000 in donations for the cause. “The Susan G. Komen people provide everything we need to make this happen, and we have such camaraderie at the event,” said the golf club’s vice president, Cheryl Porter. The club has about 72 members, and nearly 95 percent of the members are Castle Pines Village residents.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping find a cure for breast cancer and provides a support network for breast cancer patients and survivors. For more information about this organization, please visit www.komen.org.

The Village at Catle Pines Country Club designed a logo from golf balls to welcome the ladies to the course.
