American Academy (AA) held its open house on Wednesday, August 17, which included the school’s first ever flag raising. Part of the school’s improved front landscaping included the addition of a flag pole in front of the charter school.

Cadet Troop 2545 led the flag raising ceremony with the help of Junior Troops 2909 and 3779 as well as Brownie troop 2986 and Daisy troop 4127. The ceremony was arranged by girl scout leaders and AA parents, Myrian Lewis and Casey Miner.

Lewis, leader of Junior Troop 3779, had this to say about the event: “I could see the pride on their little faces as they watched the flag going up, from the daisies to the cadettes!”
