Business uses home-grown services to build success

Castle Pines resident Mary Riccelli is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. In March, she launched a new business venture in Lone Tree, called the Neuro Behavioral Institute of Colorado, to provide mental health services for a variety of conditions. Riccelli is an expert in her field, relying heavily on evidence-based treatment to improve the mental health of the community. But she knew that in order to succeed, she would need a team of experts in other fields to help her business thrive.
“I knew I would need many things to make this business what I wanted it to be,” said Riccelli. “I needed help with my website, insurance, and accounting services, and I was glad to find that all of these services were available right here in Castle Pines.”
For web design services, Riccelli contacted Eric Brown, a Castle Pines resident and founding partner at Notion ONE Web Design. Castle Pines Accountant Diane Castleberry provides accounting services, and American Family Insurance agent Julie Sequeira helped Riccelli navigate the various types of insurance she would need in her new venture.
“I talked with Mary about property, liability, and worker’s compensation insurance,” said Sequeira. “I talked to her about how the premiums were based and helped establish what she would need to start with and then what she would need as her business grows. I like to partner with people long-term and show them how insurance plays a part in what they do.”
Riccelli also used the services of Merit Real Estate broker Gregg Mardquardt, a commercial real estate broker and her neighbor in Pine Ridge. The practice has quickly gained a large client base of roughly 1,000 patients and in the fall, it will move to a new location in the same building with double the square footage it currently occupies. The current location will become a pain clinic.
“Gregg helped us find a great spot, and I was astounded at how quickly it all came together,” said Riccelli.
The Neuro Behavioral Institute of Colorado has a staff of ten providers who provide group and individual counseling services and medication.
