Road improvements remain a high priority for Castle Pines

Information provided by the City of Castle Pines

The Castle Pines City Council has done extensive outreach to residents over the last several months on the subject of road maintenance and repair. At a special meeting held in early September, Council voted on whether or not to place a question on the November ballot, allowing residents to vote on a sales tax increase for additional road funding.

Based on community feedback, Council voted against placing a question on the ballot this November and discussed giving residents the opportunity to vote on a road improvement proposal in November 2018 instead. Between now and then, the City will host community forums, collect online feedback and poll residents to determine exactly what that ballot question and funding opportunity might look like.

“Although City Council did not move forward with adding a question to the November ballot, we know that road repairs and maintenance remain a high priority for our residents,” stated Mayor Huff. “I hope that residents will continue to stay engaged as we work together to find a solution to our road funding shortfalls.”
