The Ridge at Castle Pines North names new head golf pro

Michael Weingartner has been named head golf pro at The Ridge at Castle Pines North (The Ridge). Now in his third year there, Weingartner worked his way up from earlier roles as guest service associate and, most recently, assistant golf professional.
Weingartner refers to himself as “homegrown.” His parents live in Castle Pines and he is a product of local schools: Rock Ridge Elementary, Castle Rock Middle, Regis High, and Metro State. In his teens, he worked in the housekeeping department and as a caddy at the Castle Pines Golf Club. “These were my first jobs when I was 16 and able to drive,” shares Weingartner. After college, Weingartner moved to Arizona to work in the golf business, but eventually landed back in Colorado.
In his new role, Weingartner oversees tournament operations, day-to-day play, the golf department staff, and teaches lessons. He was quick to mention that he works closely with John Heller, who is an integral part of the golf management team and that he is looking to learn and to keep a good thing going. “We have one of the best staff of people around,” he boasts.
Weingartner noted that The Ridge caters to everyone with its community feel — juniors, ladies, public players coming down from Denver looking for a different brand of golf, and experienced players. “We welcome everyone,” he shares.
The Ridge at Castle Pines North is open to the public, and it features season pass programs, junior camps, ladies instruction, a host of lesson possibilities – not to mention The Ridge Restaurant, which features amazing mountain views behind the 18th hole and terrific food.
