Youth invited to register for June 20-24 Career Academy

Youth, ages 14 – 21, are invited to register for a no-cost Career Academy during the early afternoons of June 20 – 24 at the Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Workforce Center in Greenwood Village, with one day spent at College America in Denver.

The Academy is part of the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt, a program that helps youth, ages 14 – 21 learn essential employment skills. Participants will learn about careers and pathways in Colorado’s high-growth industries of healthcare, aerospace, information technology, finance, green energy, and entrepreneurial businesses.

Participants will also take a work-readiness workshop; speak directly with experts in each field at an employer panel, luncheon and resource fair; and tour College America where degrees in are available in these professions. Each youth will also complete a personality assessment to learn how their traits are well-matched for certain careers.
