Colorado Symphony Orchestra
Culture comes closer to Castle Pines with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s recent announcement that the Lone Tree Arts Center will be its new south Denver home. The symphony’s first performance will take place on the terrace on July 12 to an already sold-out crowd.

The beautiful Lone Tree Arts Center (LTAC) is thrilled to be the new south Denver home of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO). The LTAC, which opened in September of 2011, has made a concerted effort to collaborate with other cultural centers throughout the Denver area.
Its first season of performances was a tribute to these efforts, having showcased some of the flagship performances from other venues, including the Denver Center for Performing Arts, the Colorado Ballet, and the Arvada Center.
Lisa Rigsby Peterson, the executive director of the LTAC remarked, “Our first season set the stage for bringing the symphony here. The acoustics in our theater are so excellent and bringing a 55-piece orchestra to our stage will be so special.”
The first performance by the CSO will take place outside on the terrace on July 12 with a pops concert. The evening has already sold out, but several other opportunities to see the CSO are available.
On July 25, the theater will present “Inside the Score: Mozart,” which takes the audience on a tour of Mozart’s incredible life. The musical scores are interspersed with letters Mozart wrote to family and friends, and with funny anecdotes and interesting stories.
“This is a very accessible way to see a symphony,” stated Rigsby Peterson. “The show is very fun and entertaining, and it’s a great way to introduce children and families to the symphony!”
Future performances by the CSO include American Fanfare in September, just prior to the national elections, Giants of Classicism in January, and The Art of Baroque in April. Ticket prices range from $36 to $48 and parking is always free.
Castle Pines Village resident Rick Egitto, is a LTAC Foundation Board Member. “Having a facility of this quality on the south end of town is wonderful. It’s only four exits north of where we live,” stated Egitto. “As a resident, I really like the ease to seeing top regional talent only a short drive away. The decision by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra to make the Lone Tree Arts Center its south metro home proves not only the quality of the facility, but also the ease of access to and from the facility to all residents on the south end of town.”
