Fun for everybody at Elk Ridge Park

Article and photos by Liz Jurkowski

For those of you who have not yet discovered Elk Ridge Park, once you do, it may become your family’s go-to park of the summer. It has state-of-the art play areas, a multipurpose turf sport field, a water feature, as well as a rock climbing wall and picnic pavilions.

There are 1.5 miles of pathways through and around the park. A fun scavenger hunt takes visitors all around the 12-acre facility looking for clues and searching for answers about the environment. The water zone has a waterfall and spray features, sure to cool down the kids on a hot summer day.

To visit the newest of The City of Castle Pines’ parks, [from I-25] head west on Castle Pines Parkway to Lagae Road. Turn south on Lagae and stay in the far right lane, taking your first right on Highland Hills Road. Take an immediate right onto Mira Vista Lane and follow the road to one of the two parking lots for Elk Ridge Park, on the right hand side.
