Get screened and stay healthy! 9Health Fair on April 28 at Sky Ridge

Spring is here and it is time to get screened and take charge of your health. Sky Ridge Medical Center will once again play host to the annual 9Health Fair on Saturday, April 28, from 7 a.m. to noon. The 9Health Fair has become a community staple in promoting and encouraging health awareness.
“With jobs and healthcare weighing heavily on most people’s minds today, it has never been more important for people to really start understanding and owning their health,” said Jim Goddard, president and CEO of 9Health Fair.
For a mere $30, individuals can take part in a detailed blood draw that provides a baseline for cholesterol, blood sugar and thyroid levels, as well as liver and kidney functions. The results provide important information to patients and their physicians and can also be used for employer Health Risk Assessment (HRA) programs. For added costs, the blood draw can include Vitamin D, PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen), Hemoglobin A1c (detailed blood sugar) and/or blood count screenings, too.
In addition to the blood draw options, visitors can speak with a medical professional about questions or concerns and obtain any of the following free screenings: blood pressure, bone health, eye health, first aid, foot health, hearing, Body Mass Index (BMI), lung function, nutrition, pap smear, prostate/testicular, skin, sleep apnea, and vision.
A take-home colon cancer screening kit will also be available for $20.
This year, bring a friend and help save more lives. “Because our community-driven program is a safe, friendly and affordable way for people to learn more about their health, this year, we want people who regularly participate in 9Health Fair to bring their loved ones so that they can start taking action to live a long, high quality life,” said Goddard.
