Pancake breakfast spells success for the library

Seven-year-old Nikki F. (pictured above) eats pancakes and sausage at the January breakfast to benefit the Castle Pines Library.

“I really love the library,” said Nikki. “Clementine books are my favorite.”

The breakfast, which was held at Applebee’s in Castle Rock, raised a little more than $4,000. Students at Rock Canyon High School and the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce provided ticket sales and table services at the event.

“I love to see so many familiar faces and to watch the community interact at an event like this,” said Linda Day, the event coordinator.  “We are very fortunate to live here in this great community!”

Area restaurants will host further benefits for the library in the weeks to come:

La Dolce Vita (February 7, 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.),
Pasquini’s in Lone Tree (February 20, 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.),
Duke’s Steakhouse (March 13, 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.),
Little Italy Pizzeria (April 3, 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.),
A Taste of Mexico (April 17, 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.), and
Grill at the Pines (May 1, 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.).
