Rink at the Rock opening in time for the holidays

Rink at the Rock (Rink), a new outdoor ice skating rink, will have its grand opening on Saturday, November 17, in coordination with the historic annual Castle Rock Starlighting ceremony later that evening.
The new facility will be located at 414 North Perry Street, adjacent to the popular Courtyard dining and shopping area at Third and Perry Streets, in downtown Castle Rock. Ice skating will be available seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., including holidays. Rental skates will be available.
The skating surface will be approximately 50 x 100 square feet and is for recreational ice skating (no ice hockey) and broom ball – a new trendy variation of curling. Reservations for private parties will be accepted.
This is the latest business venture launched by the Castle Rock Downtown Development Authority (CRDDA) and promises to be a successful attraction to this part of downtown Castle Rock just in time for the holiday season.
CRDDA’s Executive Director Charlene Meeker said, “The arrival of Rink at the Rock in downtown Castle Rock is a significant contribution for the entire community. This public-private partnership is an excellent demonstration of how Castle Rock collaborates to achieve goals for enhancing the overall quality of life for all. As a year-round venue, the ripple effect from activities will flow throughout the town. Residents, businesses, and visitors will benefit from this amenity this winter and for many years to come,” said Meeker.
Rink at the Rock’s ice skating season will run mid-November through February 1 annually, with other activities including music concerts, farmer’s markets, art and craft shows, and similar outdoor venues being planned for the remainder of the year.
