Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) students combined fitness and fun last month to raise much needed funding at the school. The school’s second annual “Move-a-Thon” featured a theme of “Move and Groove to Support our School.” Students collected pledges for their participation in the event, which raised more than $65,000. Money raised will be used to fund the school’s librarian, educational assistants, literacy programs, math curriculum materials and iPads for classroom use.

“The Move-a-Thon was a huge success thanks to all our wonderful sponsors and parent volunteers,” said Colleen Moar, who co-chaired the event with Brandi Tsuchimoto. “The kids completed 60 minutes of activities at 10 different stations with favorites such as the Agility Tire Run Course and Master Lee’s Taekwondo camp.  The warm Colorado weather provided a perfect backdrop for an amazing day.”

The Move-a-Thon was sponsored by several local companies including Three Peaks Capital Management, Castle Pines Orthodontics, Brandon Linn Orthodontics, Han Lee’s Taekwondo Academy, Advanced Ingtegrative Medicine, IREA, Affinity Classbooks, Big O Tires, Go GMC, Castle Pines Pediatric Dentistry, Castle Pines Family Dentistry, and Castle Pines Eye Care.
