“A Day on the Greens” with the chamber

By Elean Gersack

The Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual golf tournament Tuesday, October 1 at The Ridge at Castle Pines North (The Ridge). This year’s event, “A Day on the Greens,” will benefit Wellspring Community.

The shotgun scramble will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. The cost to participate is $500 per foursome or $150 per individual and includes greens fees, lunch, and plenty of fun. There will be raffles and special holes to make the play really interesting. Rolling dice for golf club selection and doing the “Chicken Dance” for a chicken dinner will be just some of the fun antics at this year’s event.

Participants in the tournament are invited to join Golf Pro Dennis Murray at The Ridge for a pre-tournament clinic on Thursday, September 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for just $30. Murray’s Uncomplicated Golf Instruction is a guarantee for better golf and a good time.

“We are looking forward to putting on a first class tournament this year for the chamber,” shared Lisa Chamberlain, sales manager for The Ridge. “They [the chamber] have some fun activities and contests that will be out on the course that should keep the players guessing.  The Ridge has been recognized locally and nationally as being the best course to hold corporate and charity events,” she added.

According to Castle Pines Chamber President Sharon Kollmar, the day will not only be a great time, but will benefit an even better cause. Wellspring Community in Castle Rock offers hope and future security for families of children with special needs. The Best Buddies Bakery, Wellspring Wonders Choir, Work & Enrichment Program, and Club 21 provide special needs individuals the chance to be involved, gain skills, build friendships and forge a future together. “The chamber is honored to support this wonderful organization,” said Kollmar.

To register for the tournament, visit www.castlepineschamber.com. Click on “News/Events,” then on “Events,” and then on “Golf Tournament.” The registration form can be downloaded, printed and then submitted to the chamber. Entries are due by September 1.
