While pregnant with her first child, Rhonda James envisioned a special place for women to go to find tranquility, balance and reconnect with themselves. Ten years and several children later, her vision has become a reality. Belly Up Spa, which caters to “before, during and after” pregnancy, opened in Lone Tree in May 2012.
“I wanted to create a safe place for all women who want to come and be a part of a community,” said James. Belly Up is a spa for all women, all ages, all circumstances – not just those who are expecting a child.
Belly Up features the amenities of most traditional spas, including body treatments, waxing, facials, massage, and manicures and pedicures. What you won’t find are harsh chemicals and odors; the relaxation stations have ventilation systems and feature porcelain tubs. It is a safe environment for everyone, including your little ones if they want to accompany you.
Belly Up promotes health and fitness through its menu of exercise classes. Favorites include restorative or candlelight yoga, zumba fitness, and interval-based cardio and strength classes – all designed to challenge you while encouraging you to listen to your body. Some classes provide a “mommy and me” option and family nights make the spa experience all inclusive.
Another unique feature you’ll discover at Belly Up is its ultrasound imaging facility. Comfortable sofas and chairs replace the sterile, clinical feel of a doctor’s office. State-of-the art imaging equipment and experienced medical sonographers provide the option of 2D, 3D, and 4D imaging. You and your guests will view your baby on a 42″ LCD flat screen rather than a small computer monitor, and you can bring home your precious memories in color photographs and DVDs.
