Online learning at Douglas County Libraries (DCL) keeps getting better and better. DCL is now offering Ed2Go online courses, a remarkable collection of hundreds of online courses on subjects ranging from computer applications to small business guidance to digital photography.

Ed2Go online courses represent the best of instructor-led online learning, and are identical to courses offered at educational outlets – including local community colleges. While community colleges charge fees of $80-$100 or more per course, Ed2Go courses are available to Douglas County Libraries cardholders at no charge.

“This is a really great way for people to learn new skills,” said Laurie Van Court, digital resources librarian for DCL. “There’s an incredible breadth of courses available. For example, I’m interested in one on caring for aging parents,” she said.

Courses available include curriculum like computer skills, math and writing basics, learning Spanish, how to play the guitar, or how to manage life as a single parent. Coursework may be completed from any work or home location, any time of day or night.

New sessions of each six-week course begin monthly, and courses typically include two lessons per week, each accompanied by a short quiz or hands-on assignment. Each student must pass a final evaluation at the end of each course to earn a certificate of completion.

Ed2Go courses may be found at www.DouglasCountyLibraries.org on the eLearning page. Assistance and more information are available through the Douglas County Libraries call center at 303-791-7323.

It is never too to late to expand your mind, and now the resources available at Douglas County Libraries make it easier than ever.
