Community garden sprouts again for 2013

Information provided by the Town of Castle Rock

The Castle Rock Community Garden at Glovers Park is back and ready to grow for its second season.

There are 24 garden plots available to lease on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $40 per season. Interested gardeners should fill out an application at CastleRockCommunityGarden.blogspot.com or call 303-660-3637.

Gardeners can keep the produce they grow, but donations to the Douglas County Task Force are encouraged.

The community garden began last year as a way for Castle Rock residents who love to garden – or want to learn how – to do so in a group setting. Glovers Park was chosen as the location for a variety of reasons. It is centrally located, it is flat and open, it has existing irrigation and parking, and it is Town-owned.

The garden is a 501(c)(3). Its board meets on the second Monday of the month. Learn more at CastleRockCommunityGarden.blogspot.com.
