As of press time, the City of Castle Pines was planning a 4th of July celebration for Saturday, July 6. The event is scheduled to be held at Elk Ridge Park with fireworks beginning at dark. According to Mayor Jeff Huff, “The event will be low key and kind of a ‘bring your own’ event, but with a professional, full municipal fireworks display.” Watch for additional details in the upcoming July issue of The Castle Pines Connection, or visit

Castle Rock will celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show this year at Metzler Park starting at sundown on July 4th.

The Colorado Rockies, the Rapids and the Outlaws are all having fireworks shows after their games. At Coors Field, catch the Colorado Rockies taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers during a three-game home stand, July 2-4. There will be a spectacular fireworks show following the July 4 game!

The Colorado Rapids play the New York Red Bulls at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on July 4 – stick around for the fireworks display after the game.

At Sports Authority Field at Mile High on July 4, Denver’s professional lacrosse team, the Outlaws, will battle the New York Lizards. Fireworks with pyrotechnics paired with a show on the 97-foot wide thunder vision screen will be after the game. More information can be found online at www.coloradorapids.com, www.denveroutlaws.com

Independence Day in Highlands Ranch will feature a parade, race, and celebration from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Town Center North, located at 1100 Sergeant Jon Stiles Drive and also at Town Center South, located at 9288 Dorchester Street. There will be balloon twisters, face painters, live music, games, food, beverages and more. A pet and bike parade will start at 8:45 a.m. The fireworks display will be held about 9:15 p.m. For more information go online to www.hrcaoline.org.

Littleton features Red, White & You Wednesday, July 3 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Clement Park, 7306 West Bowles Avenue. Admission is free. A variety of concessions will be available along with a beer and wine garden, community exhibit booths, and a kid’s bounce house. A free concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. More information is online at www.ifoothills.org.

Parker’s Let Freedom Sing Independence Day festivities begin at 6 p.m. on July 4. The celebration features food, live music, family activities and fireworks at Salisbury Park at 11920 Motsenbocker Road in Parker.

Fireworks at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park will be on the fourth. Spend the day riding the roller coasters and the water slides at Denver’s downtown amusement park and then watch a brilliant fireworks display light up the night sky, starting at dusk. There will be an Independence Eve Celebration in Civic Center Park on July 3, at Broadway and Colfax in Denver at 8 p.m. This celebration will feature a free patriotic concert by The Colorado Symphony, an innovative light show on the Denver City and County Building and a stunning fireworks finale. Lawn seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; blankets or low-rise concert/beach chairs are encouraged. Attendees can bring picnics; concessions will also be present on-site.
