On any given morning, MiYO Cafe in The Village at Castle Pines is crowded with neighbors and friends enjoying coffee, platters of eggs, bacon and pancakes, homemade burritos, yummy cinnamon rolls, or any of the other wonderful breakfast and lunch dishes that MiYO is known for.

MiYO (Make it Your Own) was opened in 2009 by Danny and Nannette Park, and it quickly became a local favorite. The Parks made a point to get to know their customers and are now on a first-name basis with most everyone who walks in the door. Their food is homemade and fresh, and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, making it a local favorite. The Parks have made the business a tremendous success and are now moving on to a new venture in Fort Collins.

Taking over the business are Donna and Gary Stern, another husband and wife team who have an extensive background in the food and hospitality business. The Sterns have ties to the Castle Pines area, having been married at Rodney’s in The Village at Castle Pines eight years ago. The Sterns are thrilled to be taking over such a successful business. “We do not plan on changing anything – Nan and Danny have done a phenomenal job,” remarked Donna. “We feel, why fix something that is not broken?”

Donna plans to be at the restaurant every day, with Gary stepping in to help out on weekends. The Sterns plan to keep the same employees, recipes, food, and overall concept in order to make the transition seamless. “Words cannot describe how happy we are with this opportunity and we will do the best we can to serve the Village and our customers!” exclaimed Donna.

The Parks are very confident that they are leaving MiYO in good hands. “We would like to express our gratitude and sincere thanks to all those that chose MiYO Cafe as their place to eat and meet. We feel very blessed in the respect that our customers became our friends and helped us with their insight,” remarked Nannette Park. “We ask that our friends continue their blessings to the new owners Donna and Gary Stern, as they are awesome and are looking forward to meeting everyone.”

MiYO is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located at 858 Happy Canyon Road on the corner in The Village at Castle Pines.
