Christmas is still months away, but a group of local volunteers hopes to start the season right by generating excitement for the holiday, as well as support for the Castle Pines Arts and Cultural Foundation (CPACF).

“The ornaments reflect our community and the things that make Castle Pines special,” said Vicky Kellen, who serves on the board of the CPACF. “The two-dimensional design features the Front Range, the golf course, and the buffalo sanctuary.”

The ornaments were designed by keepsake company ChemArt, and are designed to be collected from year to year. On the back of the ornaments, the inscription “first in a series” reflects the CPACF’s plan to offer ornaments on an ongoing basis.

Ornaments are available for a suggested retail price of $25, and are available at the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce, The Ridge Golf Course, Walgreens in Castle Pines, and will also be on sale for the first two weeks of September at the Castle Pines Library. Ornaments will also be on offer at community events like OctoberFest.

“We’re still in the early phases of this foundation, and are still getting feedback from the community on what they would like the foundation to do,” said Kellen. “Money raised from fundraisers like the ornaments is slated to fund art in public spaces here in Castle Pines and to support new programs.”
