Up close and personal with Colorado history

Article and photo by Lisa Crockett

Fourth graders at Timber Trail Elementary visited the History Colorado Center. The museum, which opened last year, features exhibits that illustrate how life would have been in Colorado during various time periods and allows visitors to experience life in the past first-hand. Students did 1920s homestead chores, constructed cliff dwellings out of blocks, explored an 1890s silver mine, took a Model-T Ford for a drive (using a simulator) and explored a giant floor map of Colorado.
