The Rotary Club of Castle Rock, High Noon Rotary Club of Castle Rock, and Castle Pines Rotary Club held their 20th Annual Ducky Derby fundraiser in June and raised a record $50,000 in donations.
The ever-popular Ducky Derby and street festival was held in downtown Castle Rock. Nearly 10,000 rubber duckies were launched into East Plum Creek, resulting in three winning duckies for the $250, $750, and $2,000 cash prizes. Funds benefited the Douglas/Elbert Task Force, Castle Rock Senior Center, Crisis Center, Wellspring Community, student scholarships, youth leadership training, and Boy Scouts of America projects.
This year’s Ducky Derby had three cash prize winners – pictured right: Eian McKinly (third from left) was presented with the $2,000 first place prize by the Rotary Club of Castle Rock. Also attending were John Baker (left), representing the High Noon Rotary Club of Castle Rock, John Hauber (far left) of the Castle Pines Rotary Club, and Gordon Allott (right) of the Rotary Club of Castle Rock.
