This glamorous fundraiser was a gala to remember!

Gangsters and flapper girls turned out in force on October 28 to raise money for Hide in Plain Sight (HIPS), a local nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to homeless high school seniors so that
they may attend college or vocational school.

The Gatsby Glam Gala was an inaugural fundraiser that took place at Cielo in Castle Pines and attracted more than 225 attendees.  The Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce chaired the event in partnership with Castle Rock Business Builders.  Mercury glass, pearls and a full-blown speakeasy set the stage for an amazing event thanks to Andrea Peterson, a professor at Metro State University, and her team of talented students (some of whom are pictured to the right).  The Denver Radio Band and Mod Vinyl provided music from the era and kept everyone dancing until the lights came on.  Best of all, the event raised nearly $40,000 for the amazing students who HIPS serves.

Joe Roos, founder and executive director for HIPS remarked, “The response from the sponsors and those in attendance exceeded my expectations, and HIPS is committed now to convert their generosity into helping some very deserving homeless students who are facing adversity realize their dreams.”
