Meet our writing interns

The Castle Pines Connection is honored to have three Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) intern writers (plus one who is in Malaysia for the entire year), who contribute stories not only about happenings at their high school, but also community topics.  We would like to introduce our interns to our readers and thank them for their hard work, creativity and dedication.

Riley Busch has been writing for The Connection for three years.  Riley is a dedicated honors and advanced placement student at RCHS.  In her spare time, she is an aspiring martial artist and musician, in addition to being an active member of the high school’s band program.  Riley said, “I enjoy the opportunity I’m given every month to write a new piece for The Connection.  It gives me such a great opportunity to practice and utilize my writing skills, meet new people, and add more experience to my skill set, all while learning more about my community.”

Sarah Bermingham is in her second year of writing for The Connection.  A freshman at RCHS, Sarah enjoys all her classes, especially biology, English, and orchestra.  Sarah has played violin for five years and she likes to spend time with family and friends, especially heading to the mountains and skiing.  An avid reader, Sarah usually reads a number of books at once, so she is always learning something new.  Sarah said, “I have so much fun writing for The Connection, and I look forward to writing more in the future; it is great to learn more about events in our community and share them with others.”

Jack Hibbett is our newest intern and just started writing for The Connection this month.  Jack was born in New York City and moved to Colorado three years ago.  A freshman at RCHS, Jack enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding and hiking in his free time.  Jack said, “I would love to become an entrepreneur when I grow up, and I have always liked technology.  One of my favorite mentors is Steve Wozniak, the lesser known co-founder of Apple.”  Jack first got into writing in the third grade, when he made presentations on all sorts of topics, including animals, places and people.  Jack added, “I like writing because it allows you to express your creativity and knowledge on any topic you want.”
