Now that the recreation master plan for Rueter-Hess Reservoir has been approved, the Rueter-Hess Recreation Authority (RHRA) has planned regular meetings throughout 2018 to work on developing recreational amenities for the reservoir.

The Authority is taking a phased approach to the development, with general infrastructure such as parking, roads and restrooms being a high priority. Although access is not permitted, the gate is up and one parking area is already completed, with a second parking lot possibly being completed this spring.

Led by regional partners, organized recreational programs and activities including stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, birding and guided tours will again be available in 2018, with plans for adding some new activities as well.
