Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) choir members joined 10 other Colorado school choirs to sing the national anthem for “Choir Day” at the Colorado Rockies versus Milwaukee Brewers game on May 12 at Coors Field. This marked the second year in a row that the TTE choir sang at a Rockies game. TTE’s singers came from the second- and third-grade choir, fourth- and fifth-grade choir, and fifth-grade honor choir. Each performer received a free Rockies T-shirt, and the Rockies offered discounted tickets to the students and families. The event was a win for the Rockies, with a score of 4-0, and a win for TTE’s music program, which received $2 for every ticket sold. “We had a huge turnout from TTE! We had two massive lines and signs set up behind the stadium for our school. I’m guessing we had 130+ kids,” stated Cindy Berndt, TTE music teacher. “It was a great experience!”
