Party in the Park, part of the weekend-long Party in the Pines, was fun 'til it was done. And when it was done, it went out with a BOOM! Adding a fun splash of color, fun photos and a fun activity for the kids this year, The Connection’s Chalk It Up 4 Charity event raised more than $3,000 for Local Douglas County nonprofit Harmony Equine Center.
A special thanks to our two young photographers, Zoë and Megan, for covering the events!
All the kids, young and old, are out of control and runnin' wild through Elk Ridge Park in Castle Pines as part of the weekend long Party in the Pines.
As part of Party in the Pines, this is the second year for Vino in the Village, featuring great food, music, wine and whiskey.
The Castle Pines Run Club held a 5k event at The Ridge at Castle Pines North. The irony was not lost while running at altitude through breathtaking views.
The Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce pulled out all the stops for this year's Food Truck Frenzy. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful day whiling through vendor booths, games, live entertainment, and trucks filled with gastronomical delights.
Each year we celebrate by saying hello to old friends and by welcoming new ones. We raise a glass or two to recognize and honor achievements of our peers. We enjoy a nosh, buy stuff, and dance to the music. And in the end we elect new leadership and listen to speeches, but this year was bittersweet when we also said, "Thank you Carla for your selfless years of service. You will be missed."
